In the wake of the bank’s merger with Kotak Mahindra, employees demand tripartite agreement to protect their interests

Members of the All India ING Vysya Bank Employees Union and All India ING Vysya Bank Officers Association staged a dharna at its Governorpet branch on Wednesday and demanded job security in the wake of its merger with Kotak Mahindra Bank.

Speaking at the dharna camp, Krishna District Bank Employees Co-ordination Committee secretary KS Rao said that the unilateral decision taken by ING Vysya management would affect the interests of employees and other stakeholders.

“The management did not give any written assurance to the employees union and the officers association regarding job security and other service benefits. There is also no guarantee that the new management will honour the agreements reached by the Vysya Bank and employees union earlier. Hence, the Kotak Mahindra Bank management should come forward to sign a tripartite agreement with the ING Vysya Bank and the employees union assuring that the interests of the staff will be safeguarded,” he said.

ING Vysya Bank Union Central Committee members R Ram Babu and K Vijay Raju, Vijayawada Bankers Co-ordination Committee secretary K Nagesh Kumar, SBI Officers Association deputy general secretary Ramana Murthy, AITUC State leader Chalasani Rama Rao and others took part in the dharna.
