Good job prospects for commerce graduates in AP

Akkaiah Naidu, chairman of ICAI, Vijayawada branch, highlighted the importance of commerce in everyday life.
“The importance of commerce in every aspect of life is increasing day by day. It is the backbone of every industry. There is a great demand for commerce graduates in the new State,’’ he said.

Speaking at ‘Convergence 2015’, a State level commerce meet, held at PB Siddhartha College of Arts and Science, he appreciated the college management for organising the event to provide better exposure to students. This kind of events would help students develop subject knowledge and communication skills through interaction with experts and fellow students.

Deputy Transport Commissioner S Venkateswara Rao said students should focus on developing communication skills, which are vital for better career prospects. Students should be encouraged to take part in group discussions through which they could exchange their views and share their ideas. Participation in group discussions would help them gain confidence, he said. College PG Centre director K Krishna Murthy said they had been organising the event for commerce students for the past 10 years with an aim to bring them on one platform for exchange of views and ideas. Academic events like Brain Race (quiz), Black and White (extempore) and Chanakya (balance sheet analysis) were held as part of Convergence 2015. Jhalak Dikhla Jaa cultural event entertained students. A fashion show was also organised for students as part of the meet.

About 400 degree and PG Commerce students from various colleges in Krishna and Guntur districts attended the meet organised by the commerce department of PG Centre. PG Centre assistant director Rajesh C Jampala and other faculty members were present.
