The United Forum for Quranic Studies (UFQS) will organise a Quran recitation competition for children below 12 years of age in Vijayawada, Guntur and Eluru at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram on February 1.

The United Forum for Quranic Studies (UFQS) will organise a Quran recitation competition for children below 12 years of age in Vijayawada, Guntur and Eluru at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram on February 1.

UFQS chairman Md Dawood said that the competition was meant to encourage children towards spirituality for mental peace and holistic development.

“The competition will be held in two categories. Regular students who enrolled their names in private educational institutions and government schools other than Madrasas come under the first category. In the second category, competitions for students of Madrasas will be held. Six students from other than Muslim community will participate in the contest. Cash prizes of Rs 35,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 will be given to the top three winners of the competition in each category. Every participant will be given a cash incentive of Rs 1,000, a Quran, a memento and a certificate,” he said.

Forum coordinator Moulana Abdul Rehman and Muslim United Front State president Habibur Rehman was also present at the news conference.
