MP bats for Hyd-VJA NH expansion

Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas on Tuesday appealed to the government to widen the Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway between Nandigama and Kanchikacharla in Krishna district into a six lane road. The MP raised the issue during Zero Hour of the Lok Sabha session, stating that the widening of the road would improve the road connectivity between the temporary capital of Andhra Pradesh with its new capital.

The highway was widened between 2000 and 2004 from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. However, the brief stretch between Nandigama and Kanchikacharla was neglected. The officials have provided a two-lane bypass road. The MP requested the Union Transport Ministry to take up the project.
