The Pulsar 200 RS is finally here and Bajaj has also set up a microsite for its newest flagship. Yes, as early as next week.A full-faired derivative to the Pulsar 200 NS, Bajaj is pushing the RS 200’s features on the microsite including projector headlamps, clear lens tail lights while the styling has been described as ‘aggressive muscular’.
Those following the newest Pulsar since inception will know that the Pulsar RS 200 takes its design cues from the 400 SS revealed at the Auto Expo last year. Apart from India, the Pulsar RS 200 has also been confirmed for launch in Turkey for June this year and the company’s official website states that the bike measures 2060 mm in length, 750 mm in width and 1160 mm in height with a ground clearance of 165 mm.
The new Pulsar RS 200 will be 6 kgs heavier than the Pulsar 200 NS with a kerb weight of 151 kgs and a tank capacity restricted to 12-litres. In terms of power, the Turkey spec 200 SS uses the 199.5cc triple-spark, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with fuel injection and churns out 24.4 PS at 9500 RPM and 18.6 Nm of torque at 8500 RPM, paired to a 6-speed transmission. The Indian version will be employing the same engine but with a slight reduction in power output. Bajaj has branded the new RS 200 as the ‘Fastest Pulsar Yet’.
In addition, dealers across the country have commenced accepting bookings for the new Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 while deliveries are said to begin from the last week of April. The bike will also be equipped with dual-channel ABS, petal discs, side mounted exhaust and DRL lookalike parking lights.
