Techno-cultural & sports fest Nirulotsav-2k15 underway.A two-day national-level techno-cultural and sports fest ‘Nirulotsav-2k15’ went underway on Friday at the Guntur Vignan’s Nirula Institute of Technology & Science for Women.

A two-day national-level techno-cultural and sports fest ‘Nirulotsav-2k15’ went underway on Friday at the Guntur Vignan’s Nirula Institute of Technology & Science for Women. Students from several colleges from Guntur and Krishna districts have enthusiastically enrolled themselves in around 30 different events.

Principal Dr P Radhika announced that almost 3,000 contestants are competing for cash prizes worth Rs 5 lakh. It will be handed over to the winners at the valedictory function. The inaugural event started with a speculator performance by Vignan’s Nirula students who formed a pyramid.

E Srinivas Chakravarthy, an alumnus of Vignan, and presently working as the TCS centre head in Bengaluru, was the guest of honour. He spoke to future engineers about many aspects and focused on the requirements of the generation.

He also advised students to develop conceptual knowledge, communication skills and a passion for work, which is the need of the hour in the dynamic, hyper competitive global business environment. Chairman of Vignan Institutions Dr Lavu Rathaiah exhorted students to develop self confidence.

“Many personality traits which cannot be learnt by students in their classrooms will be developed through participating in events like this. Students should build interpersonal skills, team work and organisational skills which are mandatory today in this global competitive era,” he said.

Principal of the institution Dr P Radhika motivated students to work sincerely in whatever role they play and reach the heights of excellence.This two-day national level fest gave tremendous opportunity to enthusiastic students to exhibit their talent. Events are being conducted in technical, literary and cultural and sports activities.
