Guntur district collector Kantilal Dande inspected the Lam Farm, where the agriculture university is coming up on Tuesday. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would lay foundation stone for the new university on June 6. The State government had finalised the Lam Farm for the agriculture university after the bifurcation.

The existing university located at Rajendranagar of Hyderabad was taken over by the Telangana State after bifurcation forcing the residual Andhra Pradesh to look for alternative location for the university. The government would establish Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University here on the sprawling 200 acres of land allocated in the Lam Farm between Guntur and Amaravati
