Work on the major part of the 19.3 km long pipeline has been completed but 2.3 km stretch is saddled with hard rock that is causing the delay. Out of the 45 MGD Krishna water, about 5 MGD would be supplied to areas in Old City that include Darulshifa, Azampura, Bahadurpura, Bandlaguda and other areas.

The Water Board officials say that they plan to complete the work between Barkas and Mailardevpally reservoir by the first week of July provided all the excavation work goes as per schedule.
