The ‘National Institute of Fashion Technology’ (NIFT) conducted a three-day event between July 22 to 25 to welcome freshers. Competitions in painting, photography dance and many more were conducted during this occasion.

“I am conducting a competition where students have to use their creativity and design a new product using junk material related to the announced theme, music. I find freshers very energetic and have lots of talent to display. I even feel the students are enjoying the competition,” fashion designer and NIFT faculty, Srisha Pagadala, said.

“I am conducting two competitions, photography and painting. I have given them a theme as ‘The new beginning.’ The freshers are doing their best to showcase their talent and interests. I feel today is the day for them to start their new journey and follow their dreams,” fashion communication professor, Sudip, said.

One of the freshers, Sanjoli Arora shared his feelings, “I am feeling so happy and excited joining NIFT. In my painting (for the competition) you can see a beautiful standing near the window watching the sunrise with a smile as she starts her new life.”

Brandix vice president, Sunil Kishan and Prof Baishali Ghosh from University of Hyderabad graced the occasion. Around 245 students from across India and NRIs took admission in seven departments this year for ‘Bachelor in Design’ and ‘Masters in Management’ courses.
