Sakambari Devi festival concludes

The three-day Sakambari Devi Utsavalu of Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam concluded atop Indrakeeladri on Friday. Thousands of devotees visited the temple on the final day of the annual festival, which coincided with Guru Purnima and had Darshan of Goddess Kanaka Durga in the incarnation of Sakambari Devi.

‘Purnahuti’ was performed at Yagasala near Nataraja Swamy temple marking the conclusion of the fete. Temple executive officer Ch Narasinga Rao along with his wife participated in the ritual. Amidst chanting of Vedic hymns, temple priests dropped a silk sari, flowers, fruits and puja material in Homam. Laddus and vegetables were distributed to devotees as Prasadam.
