Day one saw a host of designers showcasing their creation on the ramp with Manish Malhotra presenting Elements’ at St Regis in Mumbai. Bollywood celebrities Arjun Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez turned showstoppers for the ace designer Manish Malhotra as he opened the show with his collection titled ‘Elements’.

Bollywood celebrities Arjun Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez turned showstoppers for the ace designer Manish Malhotra as he opened the show with his collection titled ‘Elements’.

The designer, whose creations are loved by stars, gave a glamorous twist to traditional Indian couture through his 70 ensembles. His bridal wardrobe got a makeover with tailored ponchos and overlapped trousers, cocktail dresses with graceful sari drapes, off-shoulder jumpsuits with Victorian trails for the D-day.

With a fair share of fame by creating India’s first lifestyle and furniture store, Pinakin Patel stunned this season with a gorgeous collection of summer friendly fabrics that compliment nature. Elektrocouture presented an electrified performance with glow-in-the-dark and electrically lit up garments such as structured dresses, trousers, skirts, graphics suits and gowns. Archana Rao, exhibited an array of peaches and whites, perfect to gaze around this summer.

Young gun Aqdus Saleem, who made her debut as part of LFW’s “gen next" runway show, looked to the Middle East for her collection The Modest Chapter. ‘Aaylixir’ by Naveem Naaz Shaikh presented the ‘Sukomo’ collection. Working only with denim, the designer added striking touches to the popular fabric.

The collection ‘Fossilized Subconscious’ was a memorable line inspired by forgotten memories. Exploring the use of indigenous material, handloom fabrics and crafts by local artisans, Chirag Nainani brought in indigo dyeing with resist techniques.

Anand Kabra paved way for his charismatic designs by bringing woven yarns into light. Best known for his Hyderabadi touch and a favourite among celebs like Aditi Rao Hydari, Kabra introduced fabrics like pitta, resham, aina, gota and zar in his glitzy gorgeous collection.
