The Railway Hospital at Lallaguda which caters to the railway employees of South Central Railway (SCR), and more so for the employees living the twin-cities got a state-of-the-art Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) developed at a cost of Rs 30 lakh.

The Railway Hospital at Lallaguda which caters to the railway employees of South Central Railway (SCR), and more so for the employees living the twin-cities got a state-of-the-art Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) developed at a cost of Rs 30 lakh.

The renovated SICU consists of 36 beds which serves the needs of post-operative patients, acute cases and Male/Female burn cases. The SICU is provided with centralized ceiling mounted Air-condition, audio video calling system to restrict the entry of visitors into the restricted area only by visualization.

All modern medical equipment includes a mobile transport ventilator, positive pressure air purifier system etc., provided at SICU.

An air-conditioned waiting hall for retired railway employees at Out Patient Department (OPD) complex was also opened on Tuesday. The waiting hall can seat 50 patients.

A Television set and wash room is also provided inside the waiting hall for the convenience of patients. Later, the general manager, SCR, Ravindra Gupta also inaugurated Lift facility for the convenience of patients inside the Central hospital.
