City-based NGO, Helping Hand Foundation (HHF) has provided a new Omni Ambulance to the State Department of Women Development & Child Welfare at Ameerpet recently.

The ambulance worth Rs 3.3 lakh was presented to the Department from President and Managing Trustee of HHF Mujtaba Hasan Askari in the presence of Project Director P Arshita and Muthyalama, Regional Joint Director of Women and Child Welfare Department.

“A dedicated ambulance at the disposal of the TS Department of Women and Child Welfare will enable officers to move any person in medical emergency to nearby hospital immediately, without having to wait for an ambulance service from outside,” said Mujtaba Hasan Askari of HHF.

“There was a long pending and urgent requirement at the State run institute for destitute women and children for an ambulance, as each day a good number of sick children and women and particularly, those who are pregnant need to be shifted to government hospitals from time to time,” said P Arshita at the event.

“The officials were using the services of 108 and sometimes, they even have to rely on auto rickshaws to ferry the sick women and children in medical emergencies,” she said.

The Helping Hand Foundation has also agreed to support the emergency medical treatment of children in designated private hospitals, in view of severity of some of the medical cases and in the event of unavailability of critical medical services in State run hospitals.
