General Manager conducted a high level review meeting to debrief the contents discussed at the General Managers Conference held recently at Railway Board, New Delhi.

The General Manager elaborated on the priorities indicated by Hon’ble Minister of Railways concerning Cleanliness, Punctuality, Quick Redressal of Public Grievances, Proper Planning for execution of works related to Commissioning of New Lines, Doubling Projects, Electrification Projects and Elimination of Level Crossings by construction of RoBs/RuBs etc.

Ravindra Gupta directed the officials to stringently monitor the efficacy of prevailing OBHS (On Board House Keeping Services) & CTS (Clean Train Stations) systems on the Zone at regular frequencies.

He enquired upon the efficacy of Bio-Toilets provided on various trains and issued instructions to act promptly and swiftly to the public complaints. He advised speedy redressal of grievances related to security and cleanliness on a day to day basis and actionable online complaints shall be attended within 30 minutes.

The General Manager also stressed upon the need to improve punctuality of Express trains as well as Passenger trains. He advised the officials to strengthen the infrastructure, conduct more ambush checks and surprise inspections to ensure safety of train operations. He suggested the officials to compile and conduct detailed study into cases of asset failure, signal failure etc and come out with applicable solutions to avoid all kinds of minor unusual incidents which are hampering the train operations.

General Manager also advised the officials to improve non fare revenue resources to meet the targets set by the Railway Board. He further detailed on the plans to extend train security escort facilities to more trains, austerity measures to reduce the working expenditure on electricity/diesel consumption etc.

AK Gupta, Additional General Manager, Principal Heads of the Departments were present at the meeting and Divisional Railway Managers (DRM’s) of all the 6 Divisions on SCR viz., Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal and Nanded attended through Video Conference held today i.e, August1at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.
