In an innovative twist to Bathukamma celebrations, the Telangana Sculptors Association organised a ‘scrap workshop’ on the festival’s theme at Ravindra Bharathi.

The event, which organised in association with Department of Culture, provided young artistes an opportunity to showcase their talent.

This included Kantha Reddy, Sampath Reddy,Shivaramachary, PY Raju, Goutham, Srikanth, Ghouse Pasha, Jameel, Ramna Reddy, Raghavachary, Kishan, Bhiksham, Faqruddin, Raghunandan, Subodh Singh, Ramakrishna, BVR Chary, Ram Subramanyam, Sreedhar and Shyam Sundar along with Aman Preeth, who was the only female sculptor in this workshop.

“A lot of scrap was brought from various places and put before the artistes. They selected the required pieces and created their works as per their creative imagination,” said Mamidi Harikrishna, Director, Department of Culture.

The sculptures would be later put on display in the premises.
