Nizamabad: Nizamabad MP K Kavitha lashed out at TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and former Minister Sudarshan for their unwarranted criticism against the TRS government.

Participating in the foundation laying ceremony of an electricity sub-station taken up at a cost of Rs 1.20 crore in Vempalli village of Muskal mandal in the district on Monday, she found fault with them for conducting the maha padayatra only to gain cheap publicity.

The Nizamabad MP wondered as to why the Congress leaders failed to take any steps to revive the Nizam Sugar Factor when they were in power in the undivided state of Andhra Pradesh. What did they achieve by remaining as Ministers earlier, she asked.

She said that the State government has already taken steps to release funds worth Rs 50 crore to clear the arrears of Nizam Deccan Sugars Limited.

Good days are ahead for the employees of the Nizam Sugar Factory and the farmers as the Factory at Bodhan would be revived soon as the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar was taking personal interest, she added.

Coming down heavily on the Congress leaders, Kavitha said that they did not show any sincerity or commitment in reviving the Nizam Sugar Factory but now were shedding only crocodile tears over it to misguide the public.

She said that the Congress leaders were still unable to come to terms with their defeat in the 2014 general elections and they were shell-shocked, unable to make their next move. While in power, they did nothing, she lamented.

Kavitha ridiculed the vow taken by Uttam Kumar Reddy that he would not shave off his beard till the Nizam Sugar Factory was revived and added that he has become a butt of joke even among women.

Exuding confidence, she said that TRS party was enjoying tremendous goodwill among the people and the recent surveys indicated that the TRS would get a landslide if the elections were held now.

The election survey was not conducted by the government but by a private agency, she added. The TRS would get 109 seats out of the 119 Assembly seats, she added.

The Nizamabad MP said that as the district received heavy rains this year, there was a fairly good yield on crops. However, as the soya bean crop was damaged in the incessant rains, the State government decided to purchase a quintal of soya beans at Rs 2400 and opened several centres through single window.

The previous Congress governments did not take any measures to purchase wet crops which were damaged. The government was also providing uninterrupted power supply for nine hours daily, in spite of the heavy rains, she added.

In his speech, Balkonda MLA and chairman of Mission Bhagiratha Vemula Prashant Reddy said that the TRS government was a working government and it would strive for the all-round development of the State.

He showered praises on the Nizamabad MP for taking lot of interest for developing the district like her father KCR.

District TRS president E Ganga Reddy, State TRS secretary Lakshma Reddy, Vempalli Sarpanch Anjaiah and others were present.
