A PENSIONER’S ‘D’ PLIGHT

A 68-year-old pensioner Venkatamma got a taste of the hard realities in the post-demonetisation prior.

Her frail appearance and sorry plight did not move the bank employees, who merely issued her a token number when she came for her pension.

With the queue being long, the elderly lady had her lunch from the box she brought from home.

She preferred to sit outside the branch ATM, which bore the now common ‘temporarily out of service’ board.

Not surprisingly, the bank staff at SBH Sundaraiah Vignana Kendra went for lunch. Talk of humanness in the digital era!
