The  Government Chief Whip Koppula Eshwar, MP Balka Suman, ZP chairperson Tula Uma, besides many officials were also present on the occasion. Serpentine queues were witnessed in the temple premises from the early hours. There was devotional fervour all around on the most auspicious day. 

Adilabad/Nizamabad: Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy, along with a host of people’s representatives and adviser to the TRS government G Vivek, had darshan of the diety at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Dharmapuri in Jagtial district to mark the Mukkoti Ekadasi festival. Devotees from other States were also present in large numbers.

Temple priests performed special pooja, ‘Mahabhishekam’ and ‘Sahasranamarchana’ to the idols of Ugranarasimha and Venkateshwara Swamy. Dharmapuri Sachidananda Swamy performed ‘Vaikuntadwara darshana pooja’ before opening the ‘Vaikuntha dwaram’.

In Nirmal ‘Pallaki Seva’ was offered to Sri Venkateswara Swamy in the historic temple at Devarakota Devasthanam during the Dhanurmasa Utsavam to mark Vaikunta Ekadasi celebrations. Many devotees. who waited in queue since morning for the Uttaradwara Darshan witnessed the priests performing various rituals. Temple E0 Narayana told The Hans India that 15,000 had darshan by the evening.

In Nizamanbad district, special temple committees were constituted so as to enable devotees to have Uttaradwara Darshan in all prominent Vaishnava temples, to mark Vaikunta Ekadasi. Temples like Quilla Ramalayam, Subashnagar Ramalayam, Borgam Venkateswara temple, Gutva Venkateswara temple, Pochampad Ramalayam, Venkateswaralayam in Armur and Rama Satynarayana Swamy temple were colourfully decorated to mark Ekadasi.

In Sri Rajarajeswara Swamy Devasthanam at Vemulawada, the festivities were organised on a grand scale. Darshan of the deity in the morning and ‘Pallaki Seva’ were conducted for the benefit of thousands of devotees.The idols of Goddess Parvathi and Sri Anantapadmanabha Swami were taken out in a procession around the temple, Chandragiri Sharat Sharma, the temple priest said.

There is a firm belief among the Hindus that those who pass away on the auspicious day of Vaikunta Ekadashi attain salvation (mokhsa), freed from the cycle of births and deaths as the doors of Vaikuntha, the abode of Lord Vishnu are kept open.
