Sircilla: ‘Increase the number of safe deliveries in government hospitals by providing better health services,’ suggested Vakati Karuna, the Commissioner of Women and Child Welfare.

She inspected the maternity ward of Sircilla Area Hospital on Tuesday and enquired with the patients about the medical services provided to them.

She ordered the staff to keep the ward clean and tidy and asked them to change the bed sheets along with using curtains for the windows.

Later Karuna chaired a meeting with the health officials of the Hospital along with District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar.

Speaking at the meeting, she ordered the officials to maintain the premises and surroundings of the hospital neat and tidy along with appointing Gynaecologist, security persons and helpers required as per the rules.

She assured the officials that necessary equipment will be provided to the hospital along with establishing ART centre and will appoint para-medical staff through Public Service Commission.
Later, the Commissioner chaired a review meeting with doctors of Primary Health Centres and staff at Podupu Bhavan along with the Collector.

She suggested the doctors working in PHCs to provide better health services to the people, by being available at all times along with maintaining the records perfectly and inspecting the sub-centres regularly.

She ordered the District Medical and Health Officer to send medical officers to their places, who are working on deputation along with providing all basic facilities in the PHCs and sub-centres.

Karuna also ordered the officials to increase the number of deliveries in the government hospitals along with maintaining the surroundings clean and constructing the toilets separately for men and women.

Medical and Health Department Coordinator Lalitha Kumari, District Revenue Officer Shyam Prasad Lal, DM & HO R Ramesh, Hospital Superintendent Dr Tirupathi and PHCs’ doctors were present along with others.
