Karimnagar: Officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector Mohan Reddy for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income in Karimnagar. Earlier, the ASI was with the Crime Investigation Department (CID).

The ACB sleuths found assets worth Rs 1.86 crore, amassed in the form of houses, house plots, flat, agricultural lands and other immovable assets. This is the second time a case of disproportionate assets had been registered against the accused.

A case with similar charges was booked against the accused in 2006 and assets worth Rs 80 lakh were found during searches in the past. The case is still pending enquiry before the Tribunal for Disciplinary Proceedings, ACB officials said.

Mohan Reddy was booked in cases registered by CID earlier, the ACB officials said in a release. The accused was arrested and produced before the designated court at Karimnagar.
