On the occasion of Gati's 25 years of celebrations, the company has adopted a tiger, in an effort to conserve wildlife. As part of its CSR activity, the company has donated one lakh rupees to the park which will be utilised in the maintenance and care of a tiger, for the period of one year.
The event held on Tuesday at the Nehru Zoological Park was attended by many wildlife conservationists and animal lovers across the city. The chief guests for the event were P Mallikarjuna Rao, IFS, director, Zoological Parks of AP; BN Murthy, IFS, joint director, Andhra Pradesh Forest Academy along with A Sankaran, curator, Nehru Zoological Park, NK Pandey, senior vice-president, GATI-KWE Ltd, Pitter Jay Kumar, CFO, Gati Ltd and renowned magician Samala Venu.
Nehru Zoological Park is a marvel of wilderness providing natural refuge to over 1600 animals representing 163 species of mammals, reptiles and birds. “We at Gati hope to encourage awareness about the urgency of wildlife conservation and hope more corporates will contribute towards the cause.”
