DRDO Day Celebrated At Research Centre Imarat . Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad celebrated DRDO Day on Wednesday. RCI is a premier DRDO laboratory spearheading the design, development and delivery of state-of-the-art avionics systems for entire Indian missile development programme.

Avinash Chander, SA to RM, Secretary Department of Defence R&D and Director General, DRDO, Dr VG Sekaran, distinguished scientist & director general, Missiles and Strategic Systems, conveyed their best wishes to the DRDO fraternity and said, “It is time for DRDO to embrace changes to conquer new technological challenges and we have to plan our future work innovatively to steer it on the path of success.”

During the event, associate directors of RCI presented the achievements for 2013 and goals and roadmap for 2014. B Prasada Rao, Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh, in his address as the chief guest, appreciated the work carried out by scientists for development of various technologies. He commended the efforts and initiatives for promoting greenery at RCI. He also admired the director of RCI for promoting research in the institute and stressed that the research centre must have more tie-ups and work in synergy with the academic institutes to tackle the problems encountered by the research and production units.
Being a science enthusiast, he gave a technical presentation on ‘Interference and Diffraction, a New Theory’. It was carried out by the DGP himself by performing extensive experiments to explain the same through particle theory. He spoke on the history of light and the work carried out by eminent scientists all over the world.
Speaking on the occasion, Satheesh Reddy, outstanding scientist and director, RCI, commended the kind of research work carried out by Prasada Rao, despite being in civil services. In his address to the RCI fraternity, he said "I am confident that with collective efforts, we can transform RCI as one of the premier global research laboratories, developing first of its kind technology. Let all of us work together and rededicate ourselves in realisation of our future goals."
