Makar Sankranti symbolises progress and improvement and is celebrated in innumerable ways. The most popular form of celebration is kite flying which is immensely popular across the country. It inculcates a special bond with family and friends. On Monday, children from various NGOs in the city got a chance to revel in the kite-flying festivities, which spread warmth and happiness into their lives.
It was a memorable Sankranti for children hailing from various NGOs in the city as they celebrated ‘Pathangotsav’ at the People’s Plaza on Monday. The children enjoyed flying kites and also danced to some peppy numbers.
A ‘flighted’ Sankranti
The event was organised by Montrose Foundation along with 92.7 BIG FM Hyderabad. The event got a boost as the cast of the movie ‘Dil Diwana’ including Rohit, Raj Arjun, Nani, music director, Kiran Thumma, director and Raja Reddy, producer, gifted and flew kites along with the kids.
As an extension to this initiative, the radio station decided to engage listeners and movie fans with a kite flying activity while making the day memorable for kids. The movie crew also interacted with fans while sharing what to expect from their upcoming release. Former Mayor of Hyderabad, Karthika Reddy, graced the event.
