The Road Transport Corporation (RTC) launched an e-ticket booking facility through smartphones. The initiative was explained and demonstrated on Monday at the Bus Bhavan, Musheerabad.

Through the new initiative, passengers can book their tickets in advance by visiting www.apsrtconline.in or www.tsrtcbus.in through Book Tickets Tab.

Advance reservation facility is provided through Online Passenger Reservation System (OPRS) for different types of buses covering 3,668 services. A total of 1.41 lakh seats are offered daily for advance/current reservation, of which 45,000 seats are booked on an average, with 13,743 booking at 148 RTC bus stations, 16,578 through Authorised Ticket Booking (ATB) agents, 13,235 through e-ticket booking, 1,444 through online ticket booking portals like MakeMyTrip, AbhiBus, Business India, etc.

J Purnachandra Rao, vice chairman and managing director, APSRTC and TSRTC, said, “We have committed to provide high quality service and to continuously improve services for the utmost satisfaction of the passengers and to attain a position of pre-eminence in the bus transport sector.”

“The bifurcation process of the officers and employees is in the process and detailed discussions are being held between the respective administrative heads and the employees unions, government heads and a concrete and amicable decision would come soon in this regard,” he added.
