Hyderabad: Prof. Kakarla Subba Rao, former Director of Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), has called upon hospital mangers to stick to the basics of the profession while according top priority to work ethics. After chairing the ASCI’s Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management (PGDHM) Academic Advisory Board meeting here on Thursday, he said, “A lot of developments are taking place in the field of medicine with a mindboggling speed.

Everyone associated with the field should update themselves with the latest developments to serve patients better as well as to survive in the profession.” Prof. Subba Rao said that Hyderabad provides a fantastic opportunity for medical students and hospital managers to learn better.

“Healthcare and hospital management processes are complex that need skilled manpower for efficient operations and effective service delivery. ASCI’s PGDHM has been eminently meeting this requirement for more than a decade and half,” said Prof. M Chandrasekhar, Dean of Training Programmes at ASCI.

“ASCI would institute special awards for the best students. In an attempt to encourage research orientation among the students, Prof.Chandrasekhar said that ASCI would bear the expenses if students present any research papers anywhere in the country,” he added.
