Hyderabad: HMTV, the Telugu news channel, which is known for upholding ethical practices and high moral values and also for providing the viewers balanced news celebrated its 6th Anniversary at its Head Office at A S Rao Nagar here on Thursday. Employees of the HMTV recalled how six years back the channel was launched with the objective of generating a positive change in the society.

Within few months, the novel programmes telecast by the channel succeeded in connecting with different sections of the society and the channel became the voice of the downtrodden and weaker sections of the society. This channel, which has its presence in both the Telugu-speaking States, reiterated its commitment to maintain its quality and high standards.

Even when the agitation for a separate State of Telangana was at its peak, HMTV maintained a perfect balance in news coverage and earned a name for its impartial reporting of the events. Several programmes telecast by the channel like Dasa Disha had become instant hits in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

As the channel stepped into another year, it has planned to give many more new and innovative programmes for the viewers. HMTV Editor-in-Chief Venkata Krishna and The Hans India Editor Prof K Nageshwar cut the cake and launched the anniversary celebrations.
