The hundred day long cultural extravaganza, Hydourite, culminated in a grand performance by contemporary fusion music band Indian Ocean on Saturday night. The band performed at PBEL City Grounds to a large audience.

Jayesh Ranjan, vice chairman and managing director of TSIIC, said, “The Hydourite Foundation is genuinely working towards promoting art and culture in the true sense. The best of talents, both local and international, were brought into the city. What I really like is the concept of non-ticketed events, which makes it open to one and all. It is a concept, which I personally have been advocating for a long time.”

“The festival that was very painstakingly designed has put the city on the national and international art and cultural map. I am sure it will soon become a well-known art and culture festival like Mumbai’s Kalagoda Festival, Bhubaneswar’s Konark Festival, Jaisalmer’s Desert Festival,” said VB Gadgil, CEO and MD, L&T Metro.

“Festivals like Hydourite are more important especially to the newly formed State. Both the city and the State are diverse and have certain things that are unique such as Bathukamma, Bonalu, Nirmal Handicrafts, filigree, Pembarthi metal crafts, etc. We made a humble beginning three years back. This year the magnitude of the event has gone up. More than 1.2 lakh audiences are expected to grace our events,” said Ramakrishna Achanta, one of the three founders of the Hydourite Foundation.

The trustees of the Hydourite Foundation are now looking forward to establish a permanent cultural centre and are looking forward to raise funds required for the same.
