Four engineering students Jignesh, Raviteja Koneru, Sai Suraj and Muthu Raviteja created a Virtual Reality Cycle Set (LoopFit) recently to give you a bicycle ride through mountains, from the comfort of your home. Virtual Reality is gaining popularity in India by the day. Recently released movie ‘Baahubali’, directed by SS Rajamouli, also used this technology.

A Hyderabad-based startup Loop Reality launched recently its product LoopFit that lets you experience the bicycle riding in various locations in the world by just staying at your home, using the VR-based IoT (Internet of Things) technology. This startup created to give a great riding experience as well to help user stay fit.

Speaking to The Hans India, Jignesh Talasila, co-founder of Loop Reality shared, “I, Raviteja Koneru, Sai Suraj and Muthu Raviteja tried to figure out something in education sector and we realised that it is too early to introduce Virtual Reality in the education system and we ended up doing this ‘VR Cycle Set’.

Today, many people want to stay fit and they would like to do cycling kind of things but the pollution outside does not allow them to go out. To overcome this problem we created this ‘VR Cycle Set’ which enables people to ride through everywhere in the world from their home.”

Sharing about the working procedure of the ‘VR Cycle Set’, Jignesh says “For using this technology, everyone must have- VR headset, smart watch, cycle, bike stand and a computer with high-end graphics. All you have to do is hop on the cycle, strap on the VR headset and get cycling.

To make the experience real, the IoT device on the smart trainer gives resistance when there is an uphill and releases it on a downhill route. We use VR, IoT, and analytics for the product.

The VR creates the immersive- 3D environment for the product, IoT creates the resistance. It calculates the number of calories burnt, heart rate and gives you the whole stats of what you need to work more in terms of fitness.”

They also participated in ‘The First China Innovation and Entrepreneurship International Competition India Region’ and emerged in second position among 1500 startup companies. They also represented India for a startup MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Portugal in January 2017 in Bengaluru.

“Our target in customers could be gyms, health clubs or corporate offices. We are trying to raise funds to launch this product. We may launch this product in September or October this year. We are also planning to introduce this technology in Aerobic classes and Zumba dance,” Jignesh concludes.
