Drinking water booths have appeared in the town in March instead of April as there are enough indications that the summer is going to be a harsher one. The camps surfaced in the town to quench the thirst of public, especially those appearing for the SSC public examination in March. As the mercury is zooming up, people are not going out of their homes for fear of sun stroke.

Many people are flocking to the town because of marriage season. Villagers arriving here find difficulties in quenching their thirst. Caste and professionals’ associations have started the drinking water booths and serving cool water to the public who are thirsty. There are at least 10 drinking water booths in the town catering to the drinking water needs of the commuting public.

The police department established a drinking water booth near the MRO office to quench the thirst of those who visit MRO office and also that of panchayat office. Under the aegis of the TSRTC a drinking water booth is being run on the premises of the RTC bus station. The organisers of the drinking water booth vowed to extend services to the commuting public by at least three months.

A water booth has been set up at ever crowded martyrs’ cross roads in the town under the aegis of the Viswa Brahmana and Viswa Karma Association. Hundreds of general public are quenching their thirst as they are strategically located by the side of the road.
