Many local vendors must have laid their stores on the roadside a week ahead before the moon of Ramadan for seasonal sales but this year the sales would be at bleak. Since bridge which is being constructed is like a barrier separating the commuters from one side to the other.
A general store merchant Mahmood said “The vendors have to face fatal loss because of the construction works of the bridge, officials promised that the work would be finished before Ramadan, but the pace of work is sluggish which is creating trouble to the members of the residential colonies on the either side of the bridge."
A resident of Hakimpet Mohammed Parvez Ahmed said "The internal crossroads of Hakimpet plays a vital role in transportation because it is the only road which facilitates the residents to get to two different sides of the city Tolichowki and Banajara Hills.
The commuters now have a take a divergent road from Janaki Nagar which is narrow and time consuming road because of many speed breakers. Many commuters have to waste fifteen minutes of their time just, which would only take a minute if the bridge was constructed.
A seasonal vendor said "this year is going to give us tough time because the bridge is under construction we cannot go anywhere because there are objections and other stores on the roads who would not allow us to install out business. This business is our live we use to earn enough to survive for the whole year. We still live in a hope that the bridge will reopen soon but we are not sure."
