Chaderghat: The social-media head of MIM, Syed Abdaha Quadri (Kashaf) approached police following threat from some unidentified internet number. As per the complaint with the police, 24-year-old Kashaf has been facing trouble for the last few days, as someone kept calling him and also threatened, particularly in the late-night hours.

They have been abusing him and repeatedly threatened him by saying ‘Tu aja volta Moghalpura ke paas tereku chaurastey pe goli martey’ (Bullet will be fired at you, when you come to Volta hotel in Moghalpura) and also ‘Kaha uthta baithta sab malum hai bachta ab tu’ (we know all your movements and will not be spared this time) on his mobile number from an internet number. “I am bothered by this, specially, when I am outside the house or at work. I feel that someone is following me or observing every move of mine. Please do help me so that it will be stopped before it affects me. I request police to investigate the issue and take strict action against the culprits,” he appealed to police.

Kashaf was in lime-light for allegedly attacking the Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council, Mohammed Ali Shabbir during GHMC elections in 2016. As per the reports, he was boastful of the attack and also warned the Congress leader not to visit the Old City through social media posts. In the videos which went viral during GHMC elections, he was seen running towards the car in which Shabbir Ali was sitting and later punching and kicking him till the cops appeared.

The threat comes after two months of MIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi allegedly received threats from some social media accounts on Internet. He too had lodged a complaint with Cyber Crime Police to investigate the matter. Kashaf then asked the Twitter India to verify whether these accounts were fake or based in Pakistan, Kashmir or India. “AIMIM president is getting threats from Anti-India Kashmiri accounts on social media. The same accounts had threatened #ShujatBukhari on June 8. I have lodged a complaint with cybercrime & Twitter India,” he then said.
