Hyderabad: No particular community should claim the credit for development of Hyderabad, TJAC chief Prof Kodandaram said in a veiled reference to Seemandhra politicians’ claims that they were responsible for transforming Hyderabad in the last five decades. According to Kodandaram, Hyderabad witnessed development right from Qutubshahi’ period upto Nizam’ rule.
TJAC chief was speaking at ‘Hyderabad Sirf Hamaara’ meeting organised by TRSV in AV College premises on Friday. He pointed out that Gujaratis, Marathis, Rajasthanis, Tamilians and people from other states have been living in harmony for a long time in the State capital.
The Constitution of India gives right to the people to reside anywhere in the country and the same is the case even with Hyderabad, he added.
Do not tinker with Hyderabad status
Meanwhile, speaking at Greater Hyderabad TJAC meeting held at a private function hall near Kachiguda on Friday, Kodandaram warned Union Government against tinkering with Hyderabad status. Telangana community would be up in arms in case Centre came up with such a proposal, he warned. Kodandaram urged the Telangana public to be alert until the Cabinet note on Telangana was made public.
