Ahead of the 2004 elections, former Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu, had launched the Mee Kosam programme, through which he used to propagate the TD government's achievements through electronic boards. As part of this, a huge electronic board was set up near NTR Gardens on Necklace Road, which used to scroll the government achievements’ 24x7 and also catered to general information meant to tourists on major attractions of Hyderabad.

The idea did not help Naidu and he lost the elections in 2004. Ever since then, the electronic board became defunct and was never put to any use. The board is still there and now serves as a landmark for commuters.
