Newly elected ward members of the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) were sworn-in on Friday. The members can now officially discharge their duties in their respective wards. The members who were sworn-in included Jakkula Maheshwar Reddy (Ward 1), Sada Keshava Reddy (Ward 2), Anitha Prabhakar (Ward 3), Nalini Kiran (Ward 4), J Ramakrishna (Ward 5), Pandu Yadav (Ward 6), P Bhaghyasree, (Ward 7) and Loknath (Ward 8).

The reaming eight members would include military, state and central government officials including the president and the chief executive officer. The oath letters were handed over to the SCB president Brig. AS Negi which was later passed on to the Chief Executive Officer Sujatha Gupta for office record.

“As per Cantonment Act, 2006, a minimum gap of four days is required after the swearing-in ceremony to conduct any board meeting. We propose to conduct the meeting at the earliest possible time,” said CEO Sujatha Gupta. After the ceremony, all the board members promised to primarily resolve the drinking water crisis in the Cantonment area.
