Propagating Kuchipudi to help young girls

Two volumes of city-based danseuse Achutamanasa’s DVD, ‘Kuchipudi Nrityabhinaya Vedam - Moksha Margam’, will be released by Chinna Jeeyar Swami at Ravindra Bharathi on Sunday. “The main purpose of this DVD is to share the art of Kuchipudi,” said Achutamanasa, who aims to help girl students with the collections from the sales.

Achutamanasa has performed over 800 solo recitals and has been honoured with many awards. In 2010, Achutamanasa had started a campaign ‘Kuchipudi - My Life’, where she taught Kuchipudi, painting and social studies to poor children. The artiste has practicing Kuchipudi since 20 years and has an MA in Kuchipudi from Sri Sidhendhra Yogi Kuchipudi Kalapeetam.
