Former Ranji cricketer K Sai Baba received the life time achievement award for promoting sports among the underprivileged children for the last 25 years. The award was presented by Kamalakar Memorial Charitable Trust at their silver jubliee celebrations held at Ravindra Bharathi on Wednesday.

Former Ranji cricketer K Sai Baba received the life time achievement award for promoting sports among the underprivileged children for the last 25 years. The award was presented by Kamalakar Memorial Charitable Trust at their silver jubliee celebrations held at Ravindra Bharathi on Wednesday.

Sports Coaching Foundation (SCF) at Masab Tank is the brainchild of K Sai Baba. SCF, which was established in 1991, was the first-of-its-kind miniature multi-sports facility in India. In order to encourage the participation of less-privileged in sports, SCF provides free coaching to 80 per cent of its 600 trainees (approximately) at its Sports Complex.

Adviser to the State government Ramana Chary, AP Deputy Speaker Mandali Budha Prasad, Information Commissioner Vijaya Babu, Uppal MLA NVSS Prabhakar and others graced the event. Bharathi Kamalakar, founder chairman of the trust, along with Sai Baba and other outstanding people who excelled in diverse fields were also presented with the life time achievement award. Bharathanatyam artiste Nirmala Vishweshwar Rao presented a dance recital along with her students.
