annamNellore: Rich tributes were paid to Dr BR Ambedkar on his 123rd birth anniversary in Nellore on Sunday. Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy paid homage to Ambedkar by garlanding his statue at VR College Centre. Speaking on the occasion, he recalled the services rendered by Ambedkar to the nation and for the uplift of weaker sections. Kadapa: The development of oppressed people would be possible only when they get social justice, observed Endowment Minister C Ramachandraiah here on Sunday during the 123rd birth anniversary celebrations of Dr BR Ambedkar. "It was unfortunate that the downtrodden are still facing atrocities and at the same time inequality was still prevailing in the society," he pointed out. He emphasised the need for the parties, which were chanting social justice mantra, to rally behind the underprivileged in order to render justice to them and strive for their uplift. He called upon the leaders to work for the development of the weaker sections with commitment. The Minister paid floral tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar at RTC bus stand by garlanding his statue. Collector Kona Sashidhar, YSRCP district convener Suresh Babu, TDP leaders, Dalit Associations leaders paid homage to Ambedkar. Dr BR Ambedkar's ambitions will be fulfilled only when each and every person pursues higher education and raises to top level, said District Collector Kona Sashidhar. Speaking at the Jayanti Utsavam organised on the occasion of 123rd birth anniversary of Ambedkar at YSR Autirorium in Kadapa on Sunday, the Collector said Ambedkar proved that education is the base to construct casteless society. Ambedkar had written the SC, ST sub-plan long back but it is being implemented now, he said. The government will take necessary steps in providing education, medical services and basic infrastructure for SCs and STs, he added. Earlier, rich tributes have been paid to Ambedkar near his statue at RTC bus stand in Kadapa city. Social Welfare Department DD Madhusudhan Rao, ZP CEO Malyadri, Social Welfare Officer Saraswati, EDs of SC and Minority Corporation Pratibha Bharati and Srinivas Rao, DWAMA, DRDA PDs Yadubhushan Reddy and Gopal, Dalit leaders Sangati Manohar, Ramana, Mallikarjuna, Rajaratnam Issac, Gangaiah and others also paid tributes to the leader. Jammalamadugu (Kadapa): YSR Congress Party leader and MLC C Narayana Reddy gave a call to all to strive to achieve the aims of Dr BR Ambedkar. A meeting was held here at RDO office in Jammalamadugu on Sunday on the occasion of Ambedkar's 123rd birth anniversary. Speaking on the occasion, the MLC lauded Ambedkar as a great leader who showed the right path for the country. Jammalamadugu RDO G Raghunath Reddy praised Ambedkar for his efforts to uplift Dalits. The credit for legalising SC, ST sub-plan goes to Congress government, he added. Peddamudiyam mandal Tahsildar Gourisankar, Mala Mahanadu state secretary Singaraiah spoke on the occasion while Obulesu, Yesanna, Suresh, Gurappa, Ramasubbamma and others took part. Anantapuramu: Every person should take inspiration from Dr BR Ambedkar who rose from a poor family as an architect of the Indian Constitution, Anantapuramu MP Ananta Venkatarami Reddy said. He garlanded the statue of Ambedkar and paid tributes at Ambedkar Circle in Anantapuramu on Sunday. Madakasira and Puttaparthi MLAs Sudhakar and Palle Raghunatha Reddy, in-charge District Collector S Satyanarayana, ZP CEO Venkata Subbareddy, RDO Shaik Ismail, social Welfare Department DD Ramanamurthy, district officials and Dalit Unions leaders also paid tribute to the leader. The MP, speaking on the occasion, requested all the parents to send their children to schools as the State government is implementing several schemes and providing schools. Later, MP, in-charge District Collector and MLA Sudhakar distributed cash incentives of Rs 50,000 each to 18 couples to encourage inter-caste marriages. A cheque of Rs 56.69 lakhs has been presented to women groups through bank linkage.
