Minister launches 'Amma Hastham'

Karimnagar: Civil Supplies Minister D Sridhar Babu said that the State Government has been distributing 'Amma Hastham' kits comprising nine essential commodities at a subsidy price of Rs 185. He participated in the Amma Hastham inauguration programme conducted at Saraswathi Vidyalayam in Mutharam, Manthani mandal, of Karimnagar district on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Civil Supplies Minister said that government introduced 'Bangaru Talli' scheme under which the girl children born after May 1, 2013, would be given a fund of Rs 2,500 upon birth. The government would also sanction Rs 50,000 after the girl attains 18 years of age and Rs 1 lakh upon completing graduation, he said.

Later, the minister distributed the Amma Hastham kits to the white ration card holders. Under Deepam scheme, 1000 sanction letters of gas connections were handed over to the beneficiaries.
