Inaugurating a blood donation camp at the Police Kalyana Mantapam in the town to mark the commemoration of the Police Martyrs Week, Tafseer Iqbal said that many police personnel were sacrificing their lives while discharging their duties across the country so that people could live in peace. It was the responsibility of every citizen to remember their sacrifices, he added.

The Commissioner of Police said that many persons who were involved in accidents were dying as they were not getting blood that matches with their blood group and lack of availability of blood in sufficient quantities.

These kind of programmes not only saves the lives of fellow human beings but also strengthens humanitarian considerations among the people, observed by the Commissioner of Police.

The students of various educational institutions, youth, representatives of auto unions, trainee constables and home guards actively participated in the Blood Donation camp organised on the occasion.

The Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal lauded the Traffic Head Constable Sudhakar Reddy who donated the blood 21 times and distributed fruits to the persons who donated blood.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Ismail, Ganesh, Sanjeev, Venkateshwarlu, Circle Inspectors of Police Naresh Reddy, Rehaman, Raji Reddy, Venkanna Babu, Nagendra Chary, Vijay Kumar, Anjali, Police Association President Sriniva, Doctors Dr. Balu, Dr. Venkat and others were present on the occasion.
