Kothagudem: At a time when power generation and consumption have gone up in Telangana, the Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) is supplying more coal than it is committed under agreements, thus extending its cooperation in meeting the people’s needs.

The SCCL has provided 120 per cent supply to Telangana Genco, 105 per cent to National Thermal Power Corporation, Ramagundam and 106 per cent to Raichur KPCL.

As against the agreed supply of 59.96 lakh tonnes to Telangana Genco by September 26 this year, Singareni has provided 71.95 lakh tonnes, working out to 120 per cent.

In the case of Ramagundam NTPC, it supplied 65.86 lakh tonnes as against the committed 62.92 lakh tonnes and 17.68 lakh tonnes to the Raichur plant (committed 16.91 lakh tonnes), Bellary.

The SCCL supplied 7 lakh tonnes to the Raichur plant in this financial year. It is also providing as much coal as possible under the bridge linkage to the Koradi, Parli and other thermal stations.

As per the coal linkage stipulated by the Coal Ministry, the SCCL is supplying adequate coal to thermal power plants by adopting a planned approach.

Speaking to The Hans India, B Kishan Rao, General Manager (Marketing) SCCL said the company would ensure that thermal plants did not face any shortage of coal.
