Kothagudem: Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha, at its maiden meeting held here on Wednesday, resolved to upgrade the library for people of all sections of society and to strengthen all the 18 branch libraries in the district. Chairing the meeting Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha chairman Dindigala Rajender said he would focus on recovering Panchayat and Municipal Cess payable to the organisation.

The organisation is experiencing shortage of staff. Out of the Rs 2 crore funds for Bhadradri-Kothagudem and Khammam districts, the district’s share would be realised soon. He said that the Samstha would avail services of the donors in future.

It would organise book fair and poetic symposia, press into service mobile libraries, introduce books for competitive examination and hike the wages of sweepers by 50 per cent. He thanked the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for giving him an opportunity to serve the libraries. Samstha secretary for Khammam and Bhadradri-Kothagudem Ravi Kumar, members Duddukuri Sitaram and others took part in the programme.
