Nagarkurnool: Jupally Krishna Rao, Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development on Thursday inaugurated a community centre for the Fisheries Association at Kollapur mandal in Nagarkurnool district.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the government was catering to the development of all categories in the State and, was particularly focusing on revising the traditional employment opportunities for the people in the rural areas.
“Realising the importance of traditional employment, which was earlier the real-life line and economic strength for the poor people in the villages, now the State government is focusing to strengthen them. And providing all necessary support to both financially and infrastructural for the upliftment of different categories in the society,” said the Minister.
The Minister enumerated that the State government had renovated all the tanks and lakes in Nagarkurnool district and was providing free fish seed so that the fisheries community could avail employment opportunity within their own villages and towns and could earn a better livelihood.
