According to the police, the boy was worried over the safety of his father who was recently attacked by relatives regarding a property dispute and had discussed the same with his elder sister before taking the extreme step.

The boy’s father Edupally Srinivasa Rao worked as a van driver and migrated to Hyderabad from Ungutur village in AP. Recently, he visited his native village regarding the partition of the property between his two siblings.

His wife received a call on Friday informing her that Mr Rao had been attacked and injured badly in a fight. Having informed her children regarding the same, she rushed to the village. The 13-year-old Sai Kiran, who heard about his father’s health was worried over the safety of the family and shared his anguish with his sister.

Hours later, he hanged himself from the ceiling of his bedroom. His sister alerted her neighbours who broke open the door after he didn’t respond only to find him hanging from the ceiling.
