To rescue one of their friends who slipped into the lake, three students also drown in the lake on Wednesday in Kodad of Suryapet district.
Chakrala Praveen (19), a first-year polytechnic student invited his friends Mohammed Sameer (18), Mahendar Simha (18), Bhavani Prasad (18) to his birthday party near Peddacheruvu. After partying, Sameer went near to the lake to wash his hands and accidentally slipped in it. Hearing his screams, the other three who went to rescue him also drowned in the lake as they did not know swimming.
However, other friends Praveen, Aravind, Arif and Srinu also tried to rescue their friends but of no use. They informed the police, who registered a case and fished out the bodies.
The bodies were shifted to Kodad government hospital for post-mortem.
