Nation pays homage to Ambedkar

New Delhi (PTI): President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice-President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday led the nation in paying homage to Babsaheb Ambedkar on his 122nd birth anniversary. Mukherjee, Ansari and Singh paid floral tributes at the statue of Ambedkar at the Parliament House lawns. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, senior BJP leader L K Advani and other dignitaries paid floral tributes to him in New Delhi. Leader of the House in Lok Sabha and Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha P J Kurien led the parliamentarians in paying tributes to the architect of the Indian Constitution. A booklet, containing the profile of Ambedkar, brought out by the Lok Sabha secretariat, was presented to the dignitaries who attended the function.
