"A special team arrested Kohli alias Rakilbul Hussain on the borders of Delhi-Ghaziabad. He will be brought to Ranchi by Air India tomorrow," Inspector General of Police Anurag Gupta said.
He said a laptop and money were seized from him. In her FIR, his wife, a national shooter, alleged that she was made to keep secret under duress after she learnt about her husband's faith in Islam.
Ranchi Superintendent of Police Anoop Birtharay had on August 26 said that Tara married Kohli alias Rakibul Hussain with her consent on July 7 this year and that Kohli have recently started believing Islam.
Tara, who displayed her shooting medals before the media, further alleged in her FIR that she came to know about her husband's faith only after her marriage and that she was able to text SMS to her family on August 19 when she got an opportunity to text after being taken to Delhi that led to her rescue. The shooter accused him of forcing her to convert to Islam.
The police have since sealed Kohli's house and seized his cars.
Meanwhile, DIG (police), Ranchi, Praveen Kumar Singh said Kohli was arrested with his mother.
A four-member team had been sent to Delhi for his arrest, he said, adding that, after getting wind of the police's raid, Kohli left his hotel but was arrested nearby with his mother.
Singh said police is scrutinising his laptop.
