Indore: Even as Rahul Gandhi stepped up his onslaught on the Narendra Modi Government over the agrarian crisis, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Thursday wanted the Congress vice president to be active on social media to check the BJP's "misinformation campaign."
Accusing the BJP of "deploying professionals to corner Rahul", Singh said he should get active on social media to counter the opposition and remain connected with the youth. "BJP has been deploying professionals to corner Rahul and other political enemies by indulging in misinformation campaign for a long time. That is why I always tell Rahul to get active on the social media and give a fitting reply to them," Singh told reporters here.
According to him, Rahul does not have a Facebook or Twitter account as of now. "But he should open an official account on the two social networking sites in view of its popularity among the youth," Singh said.
When asked, Singh denied that some senior Congress leaders had expressed doubts on Rahul's ability to lead the party after his possible elevation as Congress president.
"Sonia Gandhi is the president of the Congress party. If she and the Congress Working Committee (CWC) decide to make Rahul the President, then all leaders of the party will accept it," he said.
