Sushma swaraj a bird with her wings cutoff

Union External affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is known to be the most brave and confident spokesperson of BJP during the days of UPA. Unfortunately, She could not find a spokesperson in her own BJP to speak on her behalf last Sunday. No Minister or leader from the BJP has come out in support of her after she was fired by both the media and opposition parties over her role in recommending travel documents to Lalit Modi, who is on the look out notice of Enforcement Directorate of Finance ministry.

She had to rely on Twitter to counter the media onslaught. Mr.Rajnath Singh has come out in her support after her talk to PM Modi and thrown his weight in her support. Subsequently the party President Mr.Amit shah also backe her action in this regard. This late party reaction over the incident shows clearly that there is not much support from Modi camp to Mrs Sushma swaraj and only to satisfy Mr.L.K. Advani and other compulsions, she was given a berth in the Union cabinet. Media is already making a hue and cry about how she distsushmamelf from the beginning and always questioned the overlap of Modi announcements on foreign affairs.

What made the party back Sushma is the moot question. Firstly, RSS has openly extended its support to her actions, made high command yield to her. Secondly BJP is not interested in blowing up the issue beyond proportions by dismissing a cabinet minister with allegations of corruption which makes the government weaker to face the opposition in the coming monsoon sessions of parliament. The government is already in trouble over passing bills with lack of majority in Rajya sabha. Elections in Bihar is also highly important for the NDA government and at this juncture any excessive dragging of its feet on this issue will spoil the ballot box outcome in its favour.

Moreover, the Modi and Shaw camp wants to keep Mrs. Sushma Swaraj camp under check by capping the issue for the time being. There is conspiracy behind leaking the emails to the media which throws light on the Lalit Modi-swaraj-Keith Vaz nexus. Whatsoever is the reason behind these leaks, one thing is clear that she has to count her days in the Modi cabinet. It's common to have this kind of mails and recommendations in every ministry but things will be blown out of proportion when you do not have support of the high command, and these leaks will create a problem for her survival.

It's like the cat which drinks the milk closing her eyes and feels that none is watching her. Mrs. Sushma swaraj has established such a moral ground earlier when she was in opposition, the same moral values are now becoming heavier on her shoulders. So she proved that she is not much different from others on whom she commented and criticised for the actions of selfishness, nepotism and corruption. Her act of recommending a person evading Indian tax authorities even on humanitarian grounds is not acceptable and it's sad to bail her out without even an enquiry on the incident by the Modi government.
