New Delhi: The Delhi government on Wednesday stated that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's office was searched and asked why the CBI seized records of the file movements of November-December.

Challenging Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's statement in Parliament that the CBI did not search Kejriwal's office, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said it was not true. "I want to categorically say that it was CM's office where the raid was conducted, DDCA (Delhi and District Cricket Association) files were looked into," Sisodia told the media.

"File movement register of the chief minister's office has been seized. If the raid was not about the Chief Minister's present term, why was the register seized? If this was not a raid at the CM's office, then why was the CM office's file movement register of November-December seized?” he said.

Sisodia alleged that the Parliament was taken for a ride by Jaitley. Jaitley told the parliament on Tuesday that the CBI only raided the office of Kejriwal's Principal Secretary Rajender Kumar over transactions in his earlier capacities. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader said the Delhi government and the AAP were not scared of any investigation. He also maintained that the AAP very much stood for the CBI's independence and there was no change in the party's stand.

"(But) this is not the voice of CBI's independence but the voice of its master," he said, adding the Central Bureau of Investigation was being manipulated by the ruling party.
