Khattar, who was here to take the stock of the present situation, had to face the anger of the people as they raised slogans against him.

The Haryana Chief Minister, who was giving assurance that no leniency would be taken in dealing with anti-social elements and proper action would be taken against those responsible for the damages in the state, had to stop midway as the irritant people did not allow him to speak.

The people gheraoed Khattar's car near the Canal rest house and showed black flags to him to vent their ire over the latest protests.

They demand the resignation of the erring police officials in Rohtak for failing to maintain the law and order situation in the city.

Khattar along with state agriculture minister O.P. Dhankar and state finance minister Captain Abhimanyu was in the city to take the stock of the situation.

The Chief Minister has been appealing to the people of the state to maintain law and order and call off the agitation, as the state government was ready to hear their demands.

At least 19 people have died and around 200 others injured in the agitation.

The members of the Jat community have been protesting for the last 10 days over their demand for reservation in government jobs.
